ORLANDO, Fla. – Oct. 16, 2013 – Fla. students pursuing a real estate career can apply for $1,500 to $2,500 in scholarship money from the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC).
Interested students must follow the rules, however. The first one: The online application process opens Oct. 21, 2013, and ends Nov. 8 at noon.
Who can apply: Students must be a Florida resident and attending an accredited Florida college or university. Eligible students must be officially enrolled in and pursuing a degree in real estate, or a degree with a concentration in real estate studies. Degrees can be at the undergraduate or graduate level.
How much are the scholarships? The Florida Real Estate Commission Education and Research Scholarships offer funding of $1,500 for undergraduate students and $2,500 for graduate students.
Where to apply: Find the application online at https://floridarealestatecommission.fluidreview.com. Applications can be submitted through the website only. The website also has a list of FAQs.
When to apply: Students can fill out the online applications beginning Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, until noon on Friday, Nov. 8. According to FREC, it’s best to apply early.
Other criteria: Undergraduate students must maintain a minimum overall “C” grade average (2.0 on a 4.0 scale). Graduate students must maintain a minimum “B” grade average (3.0 on a 4.0 scale). School transcripts must be provided.
